Sharee L. Broussard

Sharee is one of two Mobile, Alabama public relations practitioners have been appointed to seats on the national, 23-member Universal Accreditation Board (UAB) for two-year terms beginning January 2023.

Sharee LeBlanc Broussard, Ph.D. APR, Director of Public Affairs & Community Services for Mobile County Commission, was appointed to her second two-year term. She is one of eight Public Relations Society of America representatives and serves on the UAB Workgroup for Examination Preparation.

Broussard’s previous UAB-overseen activities include serving on the UAB Research Workgroup as a committee member and then chair. She’s also served as a candidate mentor, readiness review panelist, study course presenter, examination question drafter, technical review panelist, Public Relations Council of Alabama-Mobile Chapter Accreditation chair, and faculty coordinator for Spring Hill College students’ efforts toward the Certificate in Principles of Public Relations.

She is a member of Public Relations Society of America – both its Alabama Chapter and Public Affairs & Government Section, the Public Relations Council of Alabama-Mobile Chapter (past-president), Southern Public Relations Federation, and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. She’s engaged civically as well, serving on the board of the Leinkauf Historic District Neighborhood Organization and she is a past president of Lifelines Counseling Services.

The UAB oversees Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), APR+M for military personnel or contractors, and the Certificate in Principles of Public Relations on behalf of a consortium of nine public relations organizations: Asociación de Relacionistas de Puerto Rico, California Association of Public Information Officials, Florida Public Relations Association, Maine Public Relations Council, National Association of Government Communicators, National School Public Relations Association, Public Relations Society of America, Religion Communicators Council and Southern Public Relations Federation. It is administered by the Public Relations Society of America.
