According toAl.com, a local investor paid $900,000 for the former PNC Bank building in Orange Beach, according to Vallas Realty, which represented the buyer. Cory Bronenkamp of Elcan & Associates and Franklin Street Real Estate worked for the seller. Also in Orange Beach, investors are seeking to rezone 3.14 acres at 4251 Orange Beach Boulevard from neighborhood business to a planned unit development (PUD) for a Popeyes, according to the Orange Beach Planning Commission. The fried chicken restaurant would be built in the first phase of the project, and a 4,200-ft2 multi-tenant commercial building is planned for the second phase. In Gulf Shores, a local investor paid $355,000 for a 3,800-ft2 office building at 109 East 14th Avenue, according to David and Angie Swiger of Swiger & Co. Realtors.
The Archdiocese of Mobile has retired St. Mary’s Home, the oldest child welfare agency in the state, and the property at 4350 Moffett Road in Mobile is now listed for sale, according to Pratt Thomas of Merrill P. Thomas Co. Also in Mobile, two churches are seeking PUD approval to expand existing facilities: God’s Kingdom Church Ministries at 2425 St. Stephens Road is looking to include youth and adult ministries and a childcare facility, and Corpus Christi Catholic Church at 425 Evergreen Road is seeking to expand its church and private school.
