Local Businesses Named “Retailers Of The Year”

After taking a hiatus in 2020, the Alabama Retail Association has honored 11 businesses this year as Retailers of the Year. The association has presented the awards (10 judged by a panel representing retail developers, chambers of commerce and former winners and one chosen by the public) since 1999. Locally, Steve and Alisa Ascik, owners of Eastern Shore Ace Hardware in Spanish Fort; Melissa M. Cross, president of McAleer’s Office Furniture in Mobile; and Crystal Peavy, owner of Southern Gyp Boutique in Bay Minette, were winners this year.
