Bishop State’s Harris Named ACCC South Coach Of The Year

MOBILE, Ala. — Adria Harris, Bishop State Community College’s head women’s basketball coach, was named the South Coach of the Year by the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC). The ACCC awards are voted on by conference coaches. Harris joined Bishop State in November 2021. She is a native of Mobile and graduated from St. Paul’s Episcopal High School in 2001. Harris went on to receive a Division I basketball scholarship to play shooting guard at Alabama State University (ASU), where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in health. Harris is a member of both the St. Paul’s Athletic Hall of Fame and the ASU Foundation Athletic Hall of Fame. She has coached at ASU, as well as George Washington Carver High School. Harris is also the owner of the Montgomery Lady Magic, a semi professional women’s basketball team. She was also recently named the Alabama High School 6A Coach of the Year.
