Scrimmage Event To Celebrate Special Olympics Athletes Before 2026 Games

The community is invited to come out and support local Special Olympics athletes at a special Scrimmage Game and Send-Off Celebration as the team prepares to travel to Minneapolis to represent Team Alabama at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. The event will take place from 5-7 p.m at Mobile’s Dotch Community Center and will feature scrimmage matches against teams from Williamson High School. In addition to the action on the court, the cheer team from Dance Without Limits and the Magnolia Breeze Youth Ensemble will be in attendance to cheer on the athletes and perform between sets. The team was formed three years ago and has quickly built an impressive legacy, winning a gold medal at the Special Olympics Alabama State Tournament each year it has competed. Those accomplishments led to the invitation for the team to represent Team Alabama at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis. This event is intended to be a fun and energetic celebration of the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of these athletes before they head off to compete on a national stage.
