Spring Hill College Names Alum Softball Head Coach

Spring Hill College Athletic Director Joe Niland has removed the interim tag and named Hannah Fillmore, class of 2021, as softball head coach. The Spring Hill alum joined the coaching staff in 2022 as an assistant coach after playing for the Badgers from 2017 to 2022. Prior to her return, she served as an assistant to the Spanish Fort High School softball program. Fillmore helped lead the Badgers to their second Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Championship and fourth undefeated run in SIAC play in program history last season. Overall, she helped develop 10 SIAC all-conference selections, seven All-Tournament Team members and five academic all-district honorees. As a SHC softball player, Fillmore was a three-time member of the SIAC Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. The Brewton, Alabama, native started all 102 games of her softball career after moving from the Badger women’s basketball team in 2017. She hit .333 with 31 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs and 83 RBI. She fielded at a .916 pace (201-192-36) as a shortstop.
