Canoe And Kayak Day Offers Preview Of Langan Park Improvements

The City of Mobile Parks and Recreation Department; Osprey Initiative, LLC and Sunshine Canoes have invited area residents to get a preview of the ongoing improvements in and around Langan Park during “Canoe and Kayak Day” on August 21. Kayaks and canoes will be available to use for free on a first-come, first-served at 10 a.m.-noon. “Boaters will be able to take the boats out on the deeper parts of Langan Lake and get a taste of what is to come,” Mayor Sandy Stimpson said, adding, “A big component of the plans inside the park is the dredging of Langan Lake, which will once again make it deep enough to accommodate smaller boats like kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats.”
