TUFTS Named President For State Justice Association

Cunningham Bounds has announced that attorney Lucy Tufts has been elected president of the Alabama Association for Justice (ALAJ) for the 2026-2027 term. ALAJ is a statewide organization of plaintiff attorneys dedicated to protecting the constitutional right to trial by jury and promoting equal access to justice through Alabama’s courts. As president, Tufts will lead the organization’s efforts to advance consumer protection, preserve accountability and ensure Alabamians have meaningful access to a fair civil justice system. An Alabama native, Tufts graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in the top 5% of her class. Her practice focuses on business litigation, complex litigation, product liability, industrial accidents and wrongful death. She is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. She has been named as both a “Winning Litigator” and as part of the “Elite Women of the Plaintiffs’ Bar” by the National Law Journal. She is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.
