Mobile County Board Of Health Elects 2022 Officers

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala — The Mobile County Board of Health elected officers for 2022 during a recent meeting. Dr. Desiree A. Soter-Pearsall will serve as chairman of the board. Dr. Michael L. Sternberg, who is also the newest member, is taking on the role of secretary. Returning members include Dr. Michael W. Meshad, Dr. Joseph Ewing Bornstein, Dr. Stacey W. Wing, Dr. Michael C. Chang and Mobile County Commission President Merceria L. Ludgood. Meshad served as chairman of the board in 2021. During the meeting, Dr. Bernard H. Eichold, II, health officer for Mobile County, recognized him for fine work and gave him a plaque in appreciation. Dr. C.M.A. “Max” Rogers, IV, has rotated off as a member of the board of health. Pursuant to Title 22 Code of Alabama 1975, the board includes six physicians serving on the Medical Society of Mobile County’s Board of Censors and the current president of the Mobile County Commission. It meets monthly to review Mobile County Health Department activities and provide guidance to Alabama’s oldest public health agency.
