Mobile Realtors Support West Mobile Annexation Vote

The Mobile Area Association of REALTORS has declared its full support for the City of Mobile Council to give residents an opportunity to vote on the proposed annexation of West Mobile, citing numerous benefits for the local real estate industry. According to the association, “The annexation would attract a larger number of potential buyers and sellers, leading to an increased inventory of homes for sale and more opportunities for real estate agents to help clients buy and sell properties. Furthermore, the annexation would result in improved infrastructure, including better roads, utilities and public services, increasing property values and making the area more appealing to buyers. It would also bring new businesses and jobs to the area, boosting the local economy and providing more chances for real estate agents to help clients purchase and sell commercial properties.” The four proposed annexation maps would increase Mobile’s population to more than 200,000, resulting in increased federal funding. A third-party study showed Mobile County’s net population growth has happened outside the city limits for the last six decades.
