Next Steps Taken For Two Businesses In Dauphin Street Buildings

Downtown Mobile Today reports that two side-by-side buildings on Dauphin Street are set for revival. The former Spot of Tea at 310 Dauphin is expected to become Sugo Italian Ristorante, promising “authentic Italian dining,” according to its Facebook page. Next door at 316 Dauphin, The Dauphin at Cathedral Square Events Center has been in the works for several months. On October 6, the Mobile Board of Zoning Adjustment will take up a request to allow a 270-person event venue there. Owner Mary Daffin, represented by agent Robert Maurin, is seeking a code exception for event venues with an occupant load exceeding 100 people in the Downtown Development District.
