Bayside Academy Hires Trotter As Head Football Coach

Bayside Academy has hired Barrett Trotter as its head varsity football coach. Trotter comes to Bayside from Briarwood Christian School in Birmingham, where he coached football and taught for the past two years. Prior to working at Briarwood, he coached at Auburn University and the University of North Carolina. He spent the 2013–2016 seasons in the NFL coaching the Rams. Additionally, Trotter was a quarterback for Auburn University from 2008 to 2011 and was the starting quarterback during the 2011 season. He served as a team captain for his senior season. Academically, he was named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll for four consecutive years and was a National Football Foundation Hampton Scholar. He graduated from Auburn with a BA in communication in 2011.
