Bishop State To Host Its First Home Women’s Flag Football Games

Bishop State Community College will host its first home women’s flag football games on September 14 at 1 p.m. at Sage Park at 2900 Dauphin Street in Mobile. The Wildcats will face off against Lurleen B. Wallace Community College and Shelton State Community College in a doubleheader. This historic event marks a milestone for Bishop State as it continues to expand athletic opportunities for students. Women’s flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, with rapid expansion at the high school and collegiate levels. Its inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games underscores its growing international recognition and importance. The Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) is among the first in the nation to offer the sport at the community college level, giving student-athletes new pathways for competition, scholarships and leadership.
