Mitchell Named LeFlore Football Coach

Jonathan Mitchell has been named the new head football coach for the LeFlore High School Rattlers, AL.com reports. He took over the role from Michael Perry, who was relieved of his duties before the Rattlers’ final game of the season against Foley. The team’s 3-7 finish in 2025 marked the school’s most victories in a single season since 2018. Mitchell is LeFlore’s sixth head coach since 2018. In that timespan, the Rattlers are just 8-62 overall. They haven’t made the playoffs since 2013 and haven’t won a playoff game since 2009. Mitchell graduated from LeFlore in 2006, and since 2019, he has been the defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator for Williamson High School in Mobile. He’s also coached at Norcross High School in Georgia and Amite County High School in Mississippi. He played football at Grambling State from 2007 to 2011.
