USA, Airbus Partner To Move Engineering Center

The University of South Alabama (USA) and Airbus have partnered to establish an Airbus presence at USA’s Technology & Research Park at its campus in Mobile that would expand internship and research opportunities. While details continue to be finalized, Airbus plans to relocate the campus of its Mobile-based U.S. Engineering Center. USA said the new location would provide the company proximity to USA faculty, student talent, and medical and recreational facilities. “We’ll work together to build an engineering talent pipeline in quality and business, and we’ll give students the chance to work with our teams on real projects,” Airbus North America Chairman and CEO Robin Hayes said. “This will be more than a building. It’s a promise to the future of aerospace. It’s a pledge to invest in people, to create not just aerospace jobs, but also careers to continue propelling this region to lead the next era of flight.”
